1. Flying in Controlled Airspace

Within a radius of 5 km from Tromsø Airport, it is prohibited to fly drones without permission from the aviation authorities. This controlled zone covers a significant area, and all drone activities must be coordinated to avoid conflicts with air traffic.

Coordination before start and after completed flight: Before the drone operation can take place, the pilot must obtain permission from the Tromsø control tower via Ninox Drone. The traffic situation determines whether permission is granted and the operation can be carried out immediately. The operator must also inform the control tower via Ninox Drone when the operation is completed. In case of uncertainty about permission or completion, the drone pilot must contact the control tower by phone (phone: 670 34 761).
